What forms of ID are acceptable?
- Driver’s license,
- Louisiana Special ID
- Student ID
- If it contains a photo, name and signature
- Any generally recognized picture I.D. that contains your name and signature
Voters who have no picture ID may bring a utility bill, payroll check or government document that includes their name and address but they will have to sign an affidavit furnished by the Elections Division in order to vote. If they lack any of above documents, a polling representative will ask them questions about their identity, taken from their voter registration. If the polling representative is satisfied with the answers, then the voter will then sign an affidavit in order to vote.

Early & Absentee Voting — LouisianaRequest an Absentee Ballot
Early Voting Dates: Oct. 25th to Nov. 1st
You can vote in person at your registrar of voters' office and designated locations from Oct. 25th to Nov. 1st before the election. No excuse required.
To vote absentee by mail, first you’ll need to apply for an absentee ballot (click here) no later than Nov. 4th at 4:30 p.m.. Then, when you complete your absentee ballot, it must mailed in time to be received by your registrar of voters by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 7th.
